I won't provide a happiness top-ten but I will say that Danny Boyle's Shallow Grave and the first Trainspotting film always cheer me up. Weird I know but they really do. I find the actual endings of both films to be extremely uplifting. I watched Singin' In The Rain fairly recently and that film is also worthy of note. The majority of James Bond and Star Wars franchise films are also usually 'happy' films for me.

It's a subjective thing, something reflected in the lists submitted so far, but what sprung to mind when I wrote the post yesterday was for films which, regardless of your mood when he started watching, leave you feeling happy and genuinely uplifting. You don't have to be feeling down when you begin watching them, as long as you are happy afterwards.

Does that make sense?

Instead of (or as well as) 'happy', you could use any of the synonyms from this dictionary definition:

happiness
noun
the state of being happy.
"she struggled to find happiness in her life"
synonyms: contentment, pleasure, contentedness, satisfaction, cheerfulness, cheeriness, merriment, merriness, gaiety, joy, joyfulness, joyousness, joviality, jollity, jolliness, glee, blitheness, carefreeness, gladness, delight, good spirits, high spirits, light-heartedness, good cheer, well-being, enjoyment, felicity;
