Thought i'd give this thread a bump as i watched three Ghost Stories For Christmas over the weekend.

The Signalman (1976), Stigma (1977) and The Ice House (1978).

All very rewatchable, however i class The Ice House as the worst of the series by far, Stigma is too bloody (see what i did there) bizarre for Christmas and as for The Signalman? I still don't have a clue what the hell is going on.

I thought The Signalman was quite clear, myself (not seen the others). Elliott's experiencing a psychic premonition of his own impending death, but does not realise it until it's too late.

That would explain it. Are the three apparitions telling of the same event - the signalman's death or the deaths of others in so much as the first two phantoms?

I think i must find it a bit boring as my mind always wanders after about twenty minutes, half the time i end up falling asleep watching it.

Every year I prepare myself for the ever so zany Christmas treat of Gremlins. Nothing like a bit of Gizmo to get you into the Christmas spirit.

From what I remember of The Signalman, yes.

Gremlins is a total classic.

I got a lovely mini paperback of the Signalman in my Christmas stocking last year, it's really nice! I read it on Christmas Day.

Hopefully for me it'll be;

Gremlins
A Christmas Story
Elf

Perhaps I'll watch Christmas Vacation as well at some point, I will also try and watch at least one adaptation of A Christmas Carol, last year it was Scrooged, this year might be The Muppets!

I’ve already watched (all on Sunday):
Deck the Halls - yeah, it’s a bit shit but it’s become a Christmas tradition for me
Gremlins - classic nuff said
Gremlins 2 - almost as good as the first one

Still to watch:
Christmas Vacation
Elf
Nightmare before Christmas
Die Hard
Home Alone 1 & 2
Scrooged
