Dawn of the Dead? I know Scream got 'Day', and with Synapse having released 'Document'...

I suppose it depends on what they mean by 'big' though.

How I'd love this to be Thundercrack! They've been promising this film for years now...

Can't be Dawn Of The Dead.

He said it was something he's been trying to get for the last 20 years, and in the past 20 years he listed the Dawn Of The Dead Elite Laserdisc in the greatest things he worked on, so that's out, plus it's getting a 3D conversation from one of the people involved (Rubinstein?)

It's not Thundercrack, as he's already announced Thundercrack as happening.

It'll be on blu ray next year hopefully.

A lot of people think Suspiria and Phantasm as two main options, seeing as the Weinsteins rights surely must be expiring soon/have expired, and Anchor Bay just lost the rights to Phantasm.

He said it was something he's wanted to work on since 1993, and someone noted that Phantasm was in more need of a decent release in 93, as it didn't get a letterbox release until the Image laserdisc in 95, where as Suspiria had a nice letterbox release in 92 I think.

Either way, both would be AWESOME!

Ah, okay. I didn't know anything about it other than what Jinx has stated, so was firing wildly into the dark.

So far just the announcement has gotten very negative reception.

Wonder what he was thinking, a $6million 3D conversion, which the fans will hate, and the modern general horror crowd will probably not enjoy the movie it's self.

I really don't understand the obsession with 3D.

It just seems like a gimmick to make people pay more for a film just because of some (usually very bland and underwhelming) visual tinkering. It doesn't enhance the feel of the film, and often makes it worse with how ropey some of these 'amazing' 3D effects actually look. It is yet another way for companies to take as much money from the dumb, ignorant, technology hungry general public as possible.

Plus, it's all well and good doing it to your Hollywood blockbu$ter$ and Pixar films, but why **** about with the classics? Like you say, the majority of die hard fans will cry heresy, and the modern crowd won't be used to seeing a film that isn't torture porn, shaky cam, or full of pointless jump scares.

Possibly my most anticipated release of next year.

Do VCI use the same transfer as Blue Underground for TBWTCP? I'm quite sure they said that their transfer would look better than BU's did.
