Looks like the same extras as the dvd (which I contemplated selling a few weeks ago. Must have sensed a BD release!).

Restored digital transfer, supervised and approved by director Steven Soderbergh and supervising sound editor and rerecording mixer Larry Blake.
Three audio commentaries, featuring Soderbergh and writer Stephen Gaghan; producers Laura Bickford, Edward Zwick, and Marshall Herskovitz and consultants Tim Golden and Craig Chretien; and composer Cliff Martinez.
Twenty-five deleted scenes, with optional commentary by Soderbergh and Gaghan.
Three sets of demonstrations: one on film processing and the look of the Mexico sequences; one on film editing, with commentary by editor Stephen Mirrione; and one on dialogue editing.
Additional unused footage of various scenes, from multiple angles.
Theatrical trailers and television spots.
Gallery of trading cards depicting the U.S. Customs canine squad used to detect narcotics and illegal substances.
PLUS: A booklet featuring an essay by film critic Manohla Dargis.

The House by the Cemetery review:

The House by the Cemetery - Catriona MacColl

A better DVD vs Blu-ray comparison: The House By The Cemetery : Screenshot Comparison

I think the Blu-ray looks pretty good.

The House by the Cemetery may be a lot of things, but 'a quintessential Giallo' certainly isn't one of them! As the first in Fulci's Gates of Hell trilogy, it's like saying The Beyond and City of the Living Dead are gialli, a term best applied to things like Don't Torture a Duckling, Murder Rock and New York Ripper.

There are idiots that think every Italian horror is giallo though.

HATCHET FOR THE HONEYMOON on blu? Yes, please!

Kino Lorber Acquires Rights to Redemption Films Library

Quote:
Independent film company Kino Lorber has just announced its acquisition of the North American rights to the UK-based film library Redemption Films. The deal gives the studio access to a wide variety of cult and classic European horror films which Kino will release under its newly created "Redemption" label.

Up to thirty-five films will street on Blu-ray in 2012, with especially important entries receiving full HD masters from restored 35mm negatives.

First to Blu-ray in early 2012 will be Jean Rollin's erotic vampire films The Nude Vampire (1970), Shiver of the Vampires (1971), The Iron Rose (1973), Lips of Blood (1974), and Fascination (1979).

These five selections have the aforementioned restored HD transfers as well as a number of special features, including twenty-page essays from Tim Lucas, the editor of Video Watchdog magazine and author of Mario Bava: All the Colors of the Dark.

From Kino's official press release:

"In addition to the classic horror films of Jean Rollin, the Redemption Films library also includes Wes Craven's original The Hills Have Eyes: Part 2 (1985), Jack Cardiff's cult classic Girl on a Motorcycle (1968), Martin Campbell's (Casino Royale, Green Lantern) debut feature The Sex Thief (1974) and Italian horror legend Mario Bava's Hatchet for a Honeymoon (1970) – among many others.

Rollin on Blu-Ray?! Hatchet for the Honeymoon?! I'm definitely going to be keeping my eyes on Kino Lorber throughout 2012!

Let's hope the covers are better than the UK Redemption titles, though!

Strangely, that's one Bava film I haven't seen but, as I love those I have seen, I wouldn't hesitate to buy it. Also, the title makes it hard to resist!

I wonder if they'll stretch to stuff like KILLER'S MOON and SCHIZO? It'll be interesting to see if Kino's arty followers will embrace it all. Bet they wouldn't have touched some of those Redemption covers..
