Mmmmmmm, she'd look like Melinda Clark in Return Of The Living Dead 3.

I can't remember the last time I saw a 3-D film as I always choose the 2-D screening. Interestingly, when there are 2-D and 3-D showings of a film at Cineworld, the 3-D is always the first one to go.

I always pick the 3D screening when it's a new release and done well I think it's great. However post conversion is a no no. The 3D in Clash of the Titans was terrible. And as for converting old classics such as Dawn of the Dead...dear god leave it alone.

No. It was a case of going back to the original materials and starting from scratch. Hence apparently it does look 'better' than the Blue Underground release.

It seems odd that VCI are using the antiquated MPEG-2 codec for their release. BU use a more advanced codec on their release. Not saying MPEG-2 is particularly bad, but it's not as efficient with HD as the newer codecs. In fact, the releases I've seen encoded with MPEG-2 I've noticed it straight away as not looking quite HD and when I check the codec, sure enough, it's MPEG-2. That's just me, though. I'm just glad there's another BD out there with the correct ratio. Now if VCI could produce a new transfer in the correct ratio, this begs the question as to what happened with Arrow? I get the feeling Arrow have been less than truthful regarding this release...

Wasn't the reason Arrow gave, that the licensors in US and Europe were different bodies and both have different source prints? If so VCI being a US company tallies with what they said. I'm sure it would have been costly dealing with two companies.

Now I have the US release I'm actually tempted to pick up the Arrow release just for the extras, where previously I refused on principal. But I do still find the whole situation odd.

Blue Underground seemed to lose the rights to the film at the same kind of time that Arrow were being forced to use Storaro's revised ratio, as if he was somehow legally forcing an embargo on the 2.35:1 version.

Despite the title, that poster is actually the the Spanish poster for Zombie Creeping Flesh/Hell of the Living Dead, not Cannibal Apocalypse.

Would much rather have a BD of Cannibal Apocalypse.
