I've had three versions of Wild at Heart on Bd and they're all the r-rated version, including this one. The other two were the French release with forced subs and the newer UK release in the Lynch box.

If you want the uncut version you have to buy the first UK DVD release that utilises the heart/dagger logo on a burgundy background. The SE UK disc, which was remastered, is the optically altered version.

While the censoring of the one scene is annoying I'd rather have optimum PQ and lossless sound in this instance - it really is a case of you blink and you miss it with the pre-MPAA cut.

Think I'll go with the (not so expensive in my opinion) TT disc.

I have the Lynch set and am still going to buy the TT disc. It's one of my all-time favourite films and I suspect we won't see a better AV presentation again.

Rewind @ www.dvdcompare.net - Wild at Heart AKA David Lynch's Wild at Heart (Blu-ray) (1990)
I can confirm that as I used to own it.

Scream Factory have announced that they'll be releasing Lord Of Illusions later in the year. Barker mentioned that both cuts will be included before the announcement, but SF have said they can't comment on which versions will be included until a later date. Hopefully they will be trying to pull together an HD version of the Director's Cut. Just have to wait and see.

Of course,as Get Carter is one of the best films ever,I'll just need to get that U.S. disc in the meantime.
Glad I held on to this though.....

I have it lying around, it came out not long after the DVD release and from the quality it looked like an upscale from that. Oh well if im wrong I humbly apologize.

I honestly never really noticed the smoke obscuring the head shot in all honesty

Isn't the TT one the same source as the UK re-issue?

Surely the UK one (newer release) would be the cheaper option then?

Or is it the 5.1 surround. Can't remember if the UK disc is missing that or not. I REALLY need to dig out all these old discs and sort through them at some point.

That's because it's not noticeable!
