hehe, no, I just don't read it. I use this thing called the Internet, and it has all the reviews on it before the magazine even comes out . . .

So you do read it. Just digitally rather than paper.

'It' being the magazine, in magazine form I just check out the odd Kim Newman review online from the links on his website . . .

I watched Flight last night. Not the usual Academy Awards Buzz guff I usually go for, but it was watchable enough I suppose. Went way too far with the cheesy redemptive stuff at the end, I suppose that's how it got the Oscar approval . . .

Live Like A Cop, Die Like A Man

Live like a cop? More like live like a smug, bratty sex pest, murdering any suspect, armed or not! It's like Deodato had been set the challenge to make the heroes of his film as unlikeable as possible . I'd be curious to know how much of it came from the original script by Fernando di Leo, who I usually associate with cooler, classier Eurocrime than this. Not to say it isn't entertaining though . . .

I watched Zombie Creeping Flesh this afternoon or Hell of the Living Dead as it's called on my AB DVD.
Crappy acting, crappy dubbing, crappy dialogue, crappy plot, crappy make up effects, robbed Goblin score(only thing not crappy about it), all the above are reasons why I like this piece of shit!

Watching the first 1 and 3/4 of the excellent Coming To America before A Field in England starts

Hobo With A Shotgun

Stoopid.

The worst thing about this film is the dialogue, it really could be written by 8 year olds and is at it's most irritating in the "scenes" between the Drake bros. The no budget splatter reminded me of Schnaas. Rutger Hauer is the movie's main selling point but oddly (and self-defeatingly) it's easy to forget it's him you're watching!

Perhaps grindhouse is better left in the 70s/early 80s.
