I had a look at your ratings B.E when you and Dem were chatting the other week, must say i agreed with a lot of your higher rated stuff.
You got good taste, as the Cramps would say.
It's only the lower rated stuff i would rate differently personally, not all though, just a few here and there.
But hey, we all likes what we likes.

Go with The Demons. A proper Anne Libert / Britt Nichols ****fest.

Lovely stuff!

This is indeed true!

Plus, as I mentioned to Dem at the time it seems to be the stuff we don't like that defines our tastes more than what we do like a lot of the time. I think people are generally more taken aback if they see a low rating for a film they really love rather than a high rating for a film they dislike / are indifferent too.

Glad to see someone else was following the conversation though as it did seem like we were hijacking the thread at times, despite still being firmly on topic.

I've watched a few of the Star Trek originals on Tv recently, the Kahn one yesterday.
these are the ones i watched as a kid.
They are definitely my favourite Trek incarnation, love the 60's colours, the cheesiness, but also interesting stories and the characters.
Shatner's always trying to bed some space chick.
And Spock is the man.
The trouble with tribbles ep was great. the scene were they're trying to have a conversation and they keep bouncing off kirks head was priceless.
I keep hoping the nazi ep pops up soon, always found that one interesting as a kid.

Speaking of which.

28/100 for We Bought a Zoo?

I thought that quite a charming little film. Not a world beater but rather enjoyable.

65/100 i would say.

As for 27/100 for The Lords of Salem!

Sometimes i think you have no idea. It deserves at least 40/100 due to casting Geeson, Foster, Quinn and Wallace.

That's very true about the low ratings reflecting our personal tastes.

I'm always lurking in the shadows, waiting to come out.
to quote the kids programme Trap Door.

Sorry, i've set Dem off again.

this film sounds really cheesy, maybe it's the title that puts me off .
hasn't it got miss Scarlett in it tho, hmm might be worth a look.

Charming? It was corny as hell!

I don't think it helped that I watched it on HBO in a hotel room in Shanghai when I was away on business and they kept plugging the film constantly for days beforehand. I was already sick of the preview soundbites and annoying music before it had even begun.

Awful film. Zombie can't direct or write a decent script for toss. He should have stuck to where his talents lie: his music. He'd make a great director of photography though.

Plus, casting genre greats does not make for a good genre film.

I know there are many members such as yourself who do read but don't post much - some don't post at all - however, when you do post, your contributions are always appreciated and make for interesting reading.

Incidentally I used to love trap door!
