LOL, yeah those dual price tags were great! Following the demise of MVC there was Music Zone (not sure if this was nationwide) which used to have some bargain horror films. Guess they went the same way as MVC a couple of years back!

The Reaper Man@Cult Labs 6th August 2008 07:25 PM

Music Zone was another well tanked up horror stockist....now HMV have the run of the show on the high street.....

Sarah@Cult Labs 6th August 2008 07:45 PM

I practically lived in Music Zone when I worked at the John Lewis round the corner... God, I miss it! :(

The Reaper Man@Cult Labs 6th August 2008 07:46 PM

What dept did you work in Sarah-powertools? Kitchenware (knives)?:jest:

Sarah@Cult Labs 6th August 2008 07:54 PM

Gifts and pictures...

It was the second worst job I've ever had. It closely follows Woolworths and is only better than that because it paid more!

I think they knew not to put me in a sharp tools department... I might have gone on the rampage...

Mojo 6th August 2008 08:00 PM

Music Zone was a fantastic shop. Bought loads of stuff there. Absolutely gutted when it closed down...:(

spooks 6th August 2008 09:02 PM

if i'm not mistaken, didn't fopp buy out music zone, and ended up taking on their debts or something like, which resulted in fopp having to close down. i could be wrong, but i think thats what happened. and now hmv have taken over fopp, or whats left of them - i.e the fopp on cambridge circus in london, anybody know of any other fopp stores still around?.

siccoyote 7th August 2008 12:43 AM

MVC had problems so were bought out by Music Zone, who then had problems so were bought out by FOPP who within an even shorter time than Music Zone, had problems. Only HMV was stupid enough to join the end of the line, but had a sense to cut off the flack.

I'm sure Reaper will clarify but if I'm not mistaken I believe it's Halloween (the first one) the extended television version. I have it as disc 2 on the version with the holo-cover but I'm pretty sure that's the stand alone cover. The H6 Producers cut cover is very similar to the normal H6 cover except it's grey and has Kara Strode reflected in Michael's knife. Hope this was helpful.

WOW ! i've only just over 100 odd, not counting the missus and daughters film's, and consider myself fortunate to have that many.

Well done mate, thats some collection .

What way do you store them, by sub genre, ie , Cannimals, Zombies , Slasher , etc, or by Director , or A to Z .?

BTW, thanks for posting the pic's of some of the collection , as some of the foriegn DVD's have fantastic artwork, very enjoyable to look at compared to their UK counterparts. ( Shameless Art being the exception )

The Reaper Man@Cult Labs 31st August 2008 09:11 PM

Stacked any old way mate mostly-i keep the redemptions,ab's,shameless,bu's,ec's,vipco's all together, but that's about it.

vipco 31st August 2008 11:49 PM

I have mine by type, then each type by director and order of year they were made, plus they all have to be placed evenly in line.
Every night I have to check they're correctly and evenly in order before I go to sleep or else I wouldn't be able to sleep until I do.
The only dvds I have together thats mixed in styles is Shameless , as I have them together as ' the Shameless collection .

Im the same with my cpu games as well. They're all stored by type, year, company and in preferential order, ie, my Madden NFL is always 1st followed by the rest of that years EA Sports range in of preference, so its always , NFL, NBA, NHL, FIFA, Golf, etc, then they're updated every year on release. Then Racers , Shooters etc. are stored similarly .
Even my NBZ dvd's and cd's have to be kept on a shelf on they're own, away from any other music cd's or dvd's I own.

Im pretty weird when it comes to storing thing's I collect, especially my films , games and nbz stuff.
It's just the way things have to be with me.

siccoyote 1st September 2008 03:53 AM

What's nbz?
http://img510.imageshack.us/img510/6...uestionbz3.jpg

Just watched The Intruder, it was really good.

vipco 1st September 2008 11:40 AM

Nine Below Zero.

A British R n B / Blues band from South London, that were on the 1st episode of the cult comedy series ' The Young Ones'
Now they headline Blues festivals all over Europe, and played in Belfast last Saturday night. (Brillant gig)
I've followed them religiously from I was 15.

Check 'Albums' on my Shameless Profile page for photo's of the band.
My Avatar is lead singer 'Dennis Greave's'.( he's my favourite)

I thought only women had such bizarre filing systems:jest:

What's wrong with alphabetical? The only split I make is between films, music TV series on DVD but everything is alphabetical within them.

Shameless is causing me much concern though as currently they're sat in order (while I'm watching them) to take advantage of the spine image but that can't go on forever - rules are there to be obeyed... ;)

vipco 1st September 2008 12:56 PM

I couldn't store A- Z, it would be utter chaos for me,
I could end up with maniac's sitting next to zombies just cause they share the same 1st letter in their title.....No , thats just plain wrong Dougal, no offence btw, I just I seriously couldn't cope with that.

Shameless cost me a few sleepless nites trying to figure out how to store then as there's titles that would fit in the 'Nasties' section , (NY Ripper), as well as the Fulci section. Thats why I now store them all together under 'Shameless'.

'Killer Nun' and 'Flavia' cause me problem's to, as they're both Nun films but one's a nasty, plus they're 'Nun' films but dont sit together in spine number .

RobbieD 1st September 2008 05:10 PM

Thanks for the info about the DVD, Halloween!
Ya've got good taste in movies Reaper :p

42nd street 1st September 2008 07:58 PM

There's some great collections on this thread those tartan dvds are real gems.
i have stored my dvds in cases that hold 10 dvds so i put my films,by genre or director i have about 6 volumes of italian films including a volume of cannibal movies, and post apocalyptic movies.
my lucio fulci collection is quite nice but its all to save space cant see the point of having piles of amaray cases that just have the dvd and a slip cover only.

but i have a few signed items my R1 DAY OF THE DEAD signed by george romero
and my norman j warren coffin set signed by the man himself, whos just the nicest guy ever.

No worries mate, Halloween films are a real passion of mine (Surprisingly :D ;))

Working on acquiring a digital camera at the moment (as mine's currently broken) so I can get some pics of my collection up. Not as impressive as Reapers by any means but I'm pretty proud of it, been working on it for about seven years and it's always growing. Hopefully be up soon.
