sadako coming out of tv.
"get back to your ****in' tribe!!" from Taxi Driver.
the banging on the door in The Haunting.

last scene from Srpski (itl stay with me for a long while...and not in a good way).
too many kubrick bits so il just pick any scene from Barry Lyndon (they all resemble paintings anyhow).
The Baby of Macon.
the xmas sequence from Man Bites Dog.
the grass from The Thin Red Line.
the fact that The Beyond just gets stranger as it goes on.
El Topo.
opening sequence from Eden Log.

and not least at all but lastly...Grace Kelly in Rear Window (uuuhhh)

Ninotchka (1939) by Ernst Lubitsch.

I should quote the whole movie - as it is a collection of hilarious and wonderful scenes.

But here's one of the greatest moments.

Pure genius!

Greetings!

There are several chase sequences which I'm surprised no one has mentioned yet including several moments in Vanishing Point, Two-Lane Blacktop and the superb pursuit around the San Francisco streets in Bullitt. That was the finest chase scene ever made until William Friedkin decided to terrorise numerous motorists and pedestrians in The French Connection.

I love the first scene on the island in Battle Royale when Beat Takashi demonstrates how the collars work and how life is expendable, the biker gang taking out numerous zombies in Dawn of the Dead and death by vomiting up intestines in City of the Living Dead.

There are several moments in Trainspotting which stick in my mind such as Renton digging in the toilet for his suppositories and going swimming, the cold turkey detox when he sees baby Dawn crawling along the ceiling and the whole 'Choose Life' opening monologue and section.

If I had to make a top three of my favourite moments from my favourite films, it would be:
Father Karras beating Pazuzu out of Regan and then choosing self-sacrifice in The Exorcist
The telephone conversation between the American and Soviet presidents in Dr Strangelove
The final couple of minutes in It's a Wonderful Life when the bell rings on the tree and George Bailey reads the inscription in the mysterious copy of Tom Sawyer.

The barn-building scene in WITNESS

The turn-around of attitude of Famke Jansen and Josh Hartnett in THE FACULTY.

'Did I fire six shots,or only five?'

Christopher Walken and Herbert Lom discussing teh power of second sight in THE DEAD ZONE.

and of course, ahem that famous Tarka shot in Basic Instinct!

I was wondering if and when someone was going to mention that. Your name was pretty high on the list of likely candidates actually!

I figured you were one of the few users with the gall and sense of humour to mention it!

Actually, I considered putting it in the middle of that long list to see if anyone would notice.
