As someone who owns both ABUK DVD Herzog boxsets, is the BFI blu ray boxset worth buying - ie. is the picture quality a big upgrade and are the extras/short films any good?

The problem with the ABUK release was the fact that they were NTSC to PAL conversions, like many of their releases. The BFI release is reportedly much superior.

I've never owned the original ABUK set but the BFI is very impressive. Ive only watched one film right through (Aguirre) and the picture is amazing. And I've had a scan through all the discs and Nosferatu in particular is a world away from the old ABUK disc. It looks absolutely incredible.
