Another question: how's the quality of the Blue Underground Blu-ray of The Stendhal Syndrome? Picture? Sound? Is the flick good enough to have it in one's collection?

You should know this: my favourite Argento flicks are The Bird..., Deep Red, and Inferno. But I also enjoyed Terror at the Opera and Sleepless. Is it likely that I would enjoy The Stendhal Syndrome?

Greetings!
Ah, I forgot: some say this release has heavy digital noise (which I dislike), others say it has heavy film grain (which (I like) - so what is it?

Greetings!

Honestly the BU blu ray of STENDAHL SYN DROME is the best I've seen and heard the film, I used to have the 2xdisc Medusa and the BU is better than that
Yes there is some grain but no way does it ruin the film
I have no trouble with the sound or any noise probs
the picture is excellent for what imo is one of Argento's underrated giallos

Does anybody know if the UK Optimum DVD of Argento's Trauma is any good? How's the flick itself? I've never seen it, but I generally like Dario's films. A mini-review of Trauma would be appreciated.

Greetings!

I like TRAUMA myself, saw it years ago, it's a off-track Argento with a unique killing device and Pipier Laurie acting up a storm(if you like CARRIE that is). Some good set pieces make it a bit like SLEEPLESS, quite a few red herring as well. Don't go in expecting a PROFONDO ROSSO and you'll find it a pleasant thriller, though the device might make you chuckle it also might make you go 'ouch'. As an Argento fan you should have it on the shelf, so yeah Prince give it a shot(no idea on the dvd quality tho)

Also like Trauma,an underrated Argento.
Think it was the first film he made in the USA?

I have the R1 of TRAUMA in the Argento collection steelcase, but I've always thought the film to be a disappoinment, and not one of his best films, and Savivni's sfx were not up to his usual best neither

Is anybody a proud or disappointed owner of this boxset by Kino Video?

Any general remarks on Kino Video's releases?

Greetings!

I don't have that release, but I do have the D.W. Griffith Biograph one from Kino which is an excellent selection of films with very good AV quality. If it's anything like that, it should be worth buying.

I have The Penalty and The Cat and the Canary from that Kino box.
Only seen The Cat and the Canary but loved it.
