I think BBC Canada is better than the American counterpart so perhaps it'll be on the iPlayer there too. I know you guys get Orphan Black!

That was the whole thing I had a problem with  it was too calming and made me lose concentration on the words she was saying! It was good though.

Love Film has sent me Bleeder.

...the second non-horror in a row! My fault this time though as I'd added it to my list so long ago that I'd just assumed it was a horror flick when I was re-organising my priority categories for October's viewing. It is in fact an intense Danish drama directed by Nicolas Winding Refn.

I should be able to squeeze in Trick 'r Treats (the '80s babysitter terroriser) later though... especially as I managed to watch both Prom Night II AND Sorority House Massacre last night.

I rather enjoyed Prom Night II - some interesting supernatural shenanigans and effects work among the atypical '80s high school cheese. It's also quite unapologetically nasty and crude in places, which I liked. It was better than expected and an improvement on the first entry in many ways. Sorority House Massacre was derivative nonsense* (Carpenter's Halloween being the victim here) but was inexplicably rather entertaining in places so wasn't a total dud.

*well, more blatant in its derivation than the bulk of 'copycat' slashers are anyway

My choices last night were the superb and eminently watchable Sleepy Hollow and the slightly less well known The Virgin of Nuremberg.

I'm sure Shriek Show's Nuremberg transfer is desperate for a HD release. It looks stunning even as a dvd. Surely someone will pick it up as the now deleted dvd is starting to escalate in price.

Fun, but minor Fulci. It shows off his knack for visuals (provided by the legendary Sergio Salvati) but you can tell that he's not all that committed to the premise.

Still, a half-arsed Fulci is a lot better than most at their best, and he keeps things moving about nicely. Patrick McGee is perfectly cast, and it's always nice to see from Mimsy Farmer and David Warbeck.

Taking a minor break from films tonight as I just downloaded this for the PS4...
