Predicting the next popular sub genre.
The zombie film has held sway as the preferred sub genre by film makers and fans for the past few years with vampires and werewolves having a nibble at their heels. Ghost and possession films, especially the CCTV/found footage/wobbly cam style ones seem to be popular at the moment. Anyone care to guess what the next popular sub genre of film will be? |

I want to see a revival of the post-apocalyptic survival movie, with cannibals and mutants!

Next big thing? I think there's been an overkill on zombies, so I think that genre might fizzle out a bit - although the success of the walking Dead TV series might indicate otherwise. Personally, as horror fans, I don't think we've ever had it so good. I remember through most of the 90's there were hardly ever any new horrors of note - just the occasional one like Scream and Candyman (and further Jason and Freddy sequels).
