The same happens to me quite often, too. You're not alone.

John Carpenter sure is one of a kind. Halloween is a very moody and stylish stalk 'n' slash thriller, Assault on Precinct 13 is extremely intense, and The Thing a great horror flick. Almost forgot: The Fog - really a nice and spooky movie.
He shot some strange movies, too - Prince of Darkness was a lousy piece, if you ask me.

Greetings!

As Baseball posted, the character is based upon one of Top Cow's (?) seemngly never ending supply of cute female protagonists. I've not heard anything of JC doing a movie version.

I've been looking on Amazon at the German 2 disc THE FOG,which states it's an extended edition......(Sure I've mentioned this before somewhere, but at my age...) Anyone know what the extended footage is?

I bought this 2 years ago and sold it on before watching it.....

The Fog - Nebel des Grauens (Special Edition, 2 DVDs): Amazon.de: Adrienne Barbeau, Jamie Lee Curtis, John Houseman, John Carpenter: DVD & Blu-ray

There seems to be some confusion over this, but as this release should be identical to the one we got in Finland (with German audio, some cover motive etc) I think I can assure you that this release DOES NOT include a longer edit of the film. APPARENTLY this "extended version" refers to this being the "uncut" version istead of some prior German releases which had some slight trims. I remember the same confusion over a UK re-issue of "The Terminator" on VHS which boosted a sticker reading "The Uncut Version", which simply referred to an earlier edited tv screening of the film.
