Seriously? You've no love for some of the awesome metal tracks on Metallica, Load, Reload, the excellent colours on the Garage Inc. Discs, the brilliance of S&M or, after the generally disappointing St Anger, the excellent return to form with Death Magnetic?

You can't really include Garage Inc as many of the tracks were recorded years before.

The Garage Days Re-revisited ep was recorded prior to And Justice For All in order to give Jason Newkid some studio work.

Well, I was going through the albums in release date order and it comes between Reload and S&M, so those four CDs (played in order) are very different from 'normal' Metallica and then St Anger kicks in. A couple of good tracks, but no guitar solos and Some Kind of Monster explains the rest!
