My fave of his is definitely Mer de Noms; A Perfect Circle's debut album. I played it to death at the time of release. Really should dig it out again.

It doesn’t help when literally every metal or guitar based page I follow on Facebook is constantly banging on about them all the time

It was a Spotify playlist called This is Tool that I tried listening to so maybe I need to pick an album and stream it start to finish to get the full effect like Nordy says

If this was on the next album it would be deemed a classic but as it's from Virtual XI it's clearly not very good.
Just seen on Blabbermouth that Steve Harris says a lot of people are rediscovering the Blaze era and really liking it.

Iron Maiden's Steve Harris Says 'Loads Of People Are Really Enjoying' Blaze Bayley Era Albums More Now - Blabbermouth.net

I think there are some really good songs on those two albums that are actually more memorable than much of the recent albums which seem bogged down with their repeat the song title ad-infinitum for your chorus structure.

I agree, but I prefer them with Bruce singing, I really don’t like Blaze’s vocals at all! Seeing them play the Clansman live last year was amazing!

Maybe try Ænima and Undertow instead of the newer albums.
