Never could get into Arch Enemy myself. May give them another go with the new singer.
Gone a bit off that whole type of music recently. Still listen to the odd bit of black metal but almost zero death/melo-death anymore.

@Applecore - When you mentioned 3-chord punk bands earlier who were you meaning? Seventies or more recent acts?

Just interested if it was anyone i didn't know and were worth checking out.

It's not easy is it. I used to buy Metal Hammer every month since it's very first issue (ZZ Top cover). I gave up last year as i wasn't into what they were featuring really, i hate screaming vocals, a sign of no talent methinks.

For me the web isn't as informative as reading mags, or as interesting.

I'm the same, when I first got into Heavy Metal in 1989, that's all there really was, now there's that many different offshoots of Metal, I can't keep up, Grindcore, Deathcore, Applecore, the list is endless and to me they all sound the same!
