Well, yes. I admit it. It may sound funny, but I like this kind of music quite a bit as it helps me to relax.

Most of the time, I'm an ill-tempered fellow (you wouldn't have guessed that, would you...), and pretty likely to go ballistic because of little things. This kind of music helps me calm down.*

The same goes for Ke$ha, Lily Allen, P!NK, and Lana Del Rey.

End of confession. :o

*I bet it has the contrary effect on Rik and Dem and quite a few others.

---

PS: I know that both you all and I are a bit biased when it comes to Miley Cyrus, and I'm definitely not a vocal coach. However, I really think that she has a great voice. Here's Miley performing Lana Del Rey's "Summertime Sadness", unplugged and straightforward. Kudos!

So now 2 of us have admitted to buying guilty pleasure albums - everyone admit to a guilty pleasure album you own :fear:

Prince_Vajda 14th November 2013 08:01 PM

Guilty pleasure albums? No problem, here's another one. :coolblue:

Don't agree with guilty pleasures. If I like something I like it. If other people think its sad then so be it. Guilty pleasures assume that some things are cool and others are sad. Sod that.

That Lana Del Ray albums meant to be excellent by all accounts.

Cool is beyond me. Especially in regards to music. Despite my withering mockery of Prince's pop taste's if he likes it then that is all that matters.

I can see i'll have to pick this up. I'm presuming that it isn't generic r&b twaddle full of guest collaborations.

Just ordered the double cd of Born to Die. Blue Velvet sounds fantastic from the brief snippet i heard. Not bad for a fiver.

demonknight 15th November 2013 06:05 PM

Waiting on Morbid Angel's Domination CD to arrive. Bought on the strength of 'Where the Slime Live' ;)

I'm not nearly as impressed as you. The album's alright, her voice is pretty sexy, and some songs ("Cola", "Summertime Sadness", and especially "Diet Mountain Dew") are very nice.

:o To be honest when i posted i'd just put it into my Amazon basket, i generally check out towards evening.

I looked at my music pre orders and noticed i had £60 worth ordered for the last week in November / first week in December so ditched the Del Ray album.

Yes, I adore the 60s. Hairy hippies and their (absurd yet wonderful) dream of a peaceful world, full of love and dope, with lots of great music.

Fuzzbox - Look at the Hits on That!. cd/dvd.

Watched it last night - Great fun. Four punk girls from the mid 80's who ended up with fifteen minutes of fame and three hit singles before imploding during the making of their third album, and were never to be seen again.
