This is not directly about Criterion but will affect the collectors, WowHD and it's partner outlets such as Deep Discount has, since yesterday, started applying 20% VAT to all orders over £15. This makes many items significantly more expensive than we're used to paying.

Example, I had a disc in my basket yesterday which was £16.50 and ended up being £19.80. It might be better buying from Amazon again, where you still have to pay the VAT but if you don't get charged by customs they refund it back to you.

Seems they're adding the VAT on everything...I was just about to purchase Escape from LA for under £7, and it still added the 20% on?

I didn't know about Amazon, though.

Weird. Just tried again with Escape from New York (£14+) and I managed to order it without VAT being added...

i ordered 3 items from WOWHD yesterday. all the individual purchases were under £15 but the total order came to £39 - no VAT was added to the total.

is it possible that it depends on whether something is posted from the UK or from overseas?

I've tried myself and orders under £15 are not having VAT added to them!

Presumably this will just be an American release

Ingmar Bergman’s Cinema - November 20th, 2018

"In honor of Ingmar Bergman’s one-hundredth birthday, the Criterion Collection is proud to present the most comprehensive collection of his films ever released on home video. One of the most revelatory voices to emerge from the postwar explosion of international art-house cinema, Bergman was a master storyteller who startled the world with his stark intensity and naked pursuit of the most profound metaphysical and spiritual questions. The struggles of faith and morality, the nature of dreams, and the agonies and ecstasies of human relationships—Bergman explored these subjects in films ranging from comedies whose lightness and complexity belie their brooding hearts to groundbreaking formal experiments and excruciatingly intimate explorations of family life.

Arranged as a film festival with opening and closing nights bookending double features and centerpieces, this selection spans six decades and thirty-nine films—including such celebrated classics as The Seventh Seal, Persona, and Fanny and Alexander alongside previously unavailable works like Dreams, The Rite, and Brink of Life. Accompanied by a 248-page book with essays on each program, as well as by more than thirty hours of supplemental features, Ingmar Bergman’s Cinema traces themes and images across Bergman’s career, blazing trails through the master’s unequaled body of work for longtime fans and newcomers alike.

Does anybody know if Criterion intend to bring these out on region 2? We are sorely lacking in Godzilla releases here in the Uk!

I know everyone has their own definition of horror and mine is quite wide so Sisters is covered for me. Won't be getting it though as the Arrow is good enough for me.

The Naked Prey is a more naturalistic version of The Most Dangerous Game, so whilst not horror per se, certainly owes something to its more horrific antecedent. Won't be getting this either as already have the Eureka.
