yes, i've noticed. first time this week i was hit after my previous post - so i went and ordered the same item from allyourmusic instead

however, wowhd are technically breaking the law. all displayed prices should be inclusive of VAT - not an add-on at checkout. Can you imagine what the uproar would be if the same system was applied at a highstreet HMV store. websites are not exempt unless they can prove a certain percentage of their goods are sold to the trade.

If I understood this properly, Wow HD now add 20% tax to every order by a UK resident, even if it's below 15 pounds. Is that correct? If so, that's outrageous behaviour imo. I'll avoid using them in future (if possible).

It's only orders that are above £15. Just put Supergirl in my cart and there's no VAT added at the checkout.

Just a heads up - toysandfilms is a uk-based eBay seller who knocks out the archive titles for £21.95 each - it’s obviously more but less that the cost of overseas ordering + tax and RM handling fee. They’re quick too - they were formerly DVDS Limited back in the day.

I know that Stephen uses them too.

from the Warner Archive Facebook page

A Note on Our Upcoming Release of Howard Hawks’ Production of The Thing From Another World

Yes, this new master has been sourced from 35mm film elements. The restored "missing" sequences have been taken from later generation elements, so subtle and slight differences will be discernible. However, the restoration work has been under way for quite some in order to bring the release up to our customary high standards and we are quite pleased with the results. In addition, the opening titles have been corrected to the proper size and aspect ratio for the first time since its original release. Interested parties should look out for an upcoming Warner Archive Collection Podcast in which we will go into greater and more in depth details. As always, thanks for your support - and "keep watching the skies!"
