Yes, I believe that is the reason.

It seems that the BBFC have passed 'The Holy Virgin Vs. The Evil Dead' with a '15' certificate

peter alex 13th February 2024 08:22 PM

there is an unclothed version of the film but its the clothed version of the film that been given an 15 certificate.

Shock Waves is a definite isn't it.

The film itself when you've seen the poster is one of the best cases of the Emperor's new clothes i can think of, but what fine clothes they are.

Dave Boy 14th February 2024 01:29 PM

It's strange about The Creeping Flesh. The movie was released on DVD by DD Video (which happily I have) but pulled soon after due to rights issues. Now if Kevin Francis had anything to do with this I don't understand why that would be.
Kevin sitting on both The Ghoul and Legend Of The Werewolf are both from his company TYBURN so I can see that those are his property and it's up to him what he does. Stupid to do that but still, although The Ghoul was released on video in it's uncut form so why the problem now?
The Creeping Flesh is a TIGON movie and and apart from his father directing the film, Kevin had nothing to do with it as far as I know.
So, is Kevin Francis behind the The Creeping Flesh saga somehow or is something else?

The only thing I can think of is that Francis was given some control over the rights as part of his directing deal?

I like Junes releases especially the Hong Kong films and as for the 2 Italian releases I'm glad they are getting a 4K UHD release so no I don't think this is the beginning of the end for 88films and they are not scrapping the bottom of the barrow and if people want them and they do then I'm glad and the 2 Italian films Severin will probably announce the same 2 films in the next 2 months.

Demdike@Cult Labs 15th February 2024 11:25 AM

I have no interest in any of June's releases.

With Beast in the Cellar, Shock Waves, Hannie Caulder, Gator and The Body Stealers there's plenty for me beforehand, plus Masters of the Universe to come too.

Steel76 15th February 2024 07:19 PM

And of course, Absurd receives piss colored artwork...

Both that one and Anthropophagus looks terrible.

Yet another bunch of slipcases, that will be thrown into a box, in the closet.

will graham 15th February 2024 08:13 PM

Anyone who brought 88's copy of porky's revenge can't winge about them releasing American pie.

I'm guessing it's alot like some of their others it was part of a package deal they got from universal.
Ie they can release some cult 70s, 80s movie but it's part of a package that means they also have to release fast and furious.

I didn't get 88Films copy of 'Porky's Revenge' therefore I CAN winge about 'American Pie' !!

Justin101 15th February 2024 10:44 PM

American Pie is a great film, I'm not sure it needs a 4k UHD though.

A blu-ray box set of all the films is something i'd have added to the five forthcoming releases i'd like to pick up.
