Excellent collection so far, B_E.

The only one i would consider non-essential is Phantom of the Opera as i find it boring.

Strange to think that for years Captain Clegg was almost considered a 'lost' film and now it's out on dvd and blu-ray over here.

Saw it as Night Creatures during the mid/late 70s in the U.S. on tv, so it's been gone quite a while.

Does anyone else have the dvd of Twice Told Tales ?
It's not a very good release.
The right hand side of the picture frame is a fuzzy mess for all of the film and you have to crank the sound up real high to hear anything.

Is the R1 midnight Movies release the same ?

Whilst I do quite like Phantom, it's certainly one of the weaker Hammer productions. Captain Clegg was a big (and very welcome) surprise release in terns of its history and one I snapped up not long after release.

Looking forward to Final Cut's Vault of Horror release - especially as it'll be the first time it has seen an uncut release in the UK. Glad I held off from picking up Scream's double feature now.

Why?

Surely a double feature is better value.

I'd rather buy home-grown than import where I can and Scream is famously not too hot in the compression department so I usually avoid their discs if there is another alternative anyway - however, the discs I do have from them are all decent enough.
