When I asked the BBFC for the full list of pre-cuts they didn't have them alas. Thankfully I was more lucky with Cannibal Holocaust.

The cut itself could well be 2 secs. I haven't seen the cut version to compare. They list the muskrat scene as 6 secs on their site but when a film is cut the BBFC normally measure the result in terms of film reel length, and often the result is inaccurate (as it was with Shameless's very own New York Ripper).

It's a shame that this is the only version of Ferox available to the UK punter, I still think without the animal cruelty the film would pass with only the impalment scene being akward , though with clever editing you still might get to show she gets killed and dosent just disappear as in VIPCO's cut, and it would sell as HMV sell the current version and at ?19.99 and they are still shifting units.

Eaten Alive is another one that deserves a better UK version and would pass with only the animal cruelty scene's cut.

Slap an 'Extreme Version' on the cover of each and you'd definitely make a profit.

Yes Eaten Alive would pass today with only the snake/monkey and crocodile killings cut. It would have done the same last time had Vipco submitted the uncut version again instead of reissuing the same pre-cut print.

I'd love to see what the BBFC would make of the full Cannibal Ferox now. Other than the animal scenes (which would definitely go) the only problem would be the breast impalement. The cuts to this scene would be minimal if edited well, and all that could possibly be removed is the actual closeups of the impalement. The rest should be ok.

could you get away with putting a digitally added mark over the offending bits saying "censored by the BBFC"?

Or do you think that would annoy the blissfully ignorant about the release (rather than the bbfc) than just cutting it out and them not knowing any better?

Keeping abreast of things.

The shots of Kerowa actually suspended would possibly pass. The cuts would more likely be to the closeups shots of the hook insertions.

Yes the hanging scenes alone should pass. The camera keeps its distance although there is one extreme close up (side shot) that might have problems.

Does anybody know of a complete listed catalogue of all the Vipcos releases?
I'm looking for some more classics to add to my small developing collection. And since Vipco and their website doesn't exist anymore it is quite hard to find any worthy information about this wonderful distributor.

Cannibal Holocaust 2 & Ferox 2 were cut. Likewise so were A Man Called Blade & The Big Racket. I'm quite sure the extremely depressing Suicide is uncut.
