The Mutialtor was never classed as a nasty.

Looking for some advice on Antropophagus(or whatever way you spell it) aka Grim Reaper.
Is it worth getting?
What's the best version?
Is the 2000 remake any good?

Most people seem to hate Anthro but I enjoyed it, atmospheric and very creepy. Good gore scenes as well. Didn't like the original score though as I thought it was quite dull, I preferred the score they used on the cut UK DVD.

I really like both Anthro and the follow-up sequel Absurd.

I have the 2 Disc Italian release from Beat Records which is pretty hard to beat, but I think it is OOP now. There are plenty of other releases available - XT do a nice one under the title Man-Eater in the form of a steelbook with a 3D holographic cover.

The 2000 remake is a German splatter film by Schnaas, so is more about the gore - definitely worth a watch though!

I preferred Anthropophagous to Absurd, despite the slow pacing.

saw evilspeak when it was released nvr seen it since
Just finished watching it for 1st time since its reg 1 american uncut uncensored version
Im baffled why all the controversy there nothing in it a mere midge of a second or 2 blink and you miss it
Seen more gore etc in a tim burton film like sleepy hollow or musical version of sweeny todd

It would also be good to continue this thread with the best version or release of any film

Evilspeak was a real problem film back then and ended up as an official Video Nasty. It was eventually released after Ferman lopped 3 mins out. Definitely pretty tame by today's standards.

The prints on the 2-disc ABUK release are both uncut though disc 2 features the 10 mins longer version (additional dialogue missing from the U.S print). Disc 2 also appears in the 2nd Box Of The Banned.

I enjoyed the cheesiness of Evilspeak, the cuts are a real product of the time it was out. Like you say Vince, compared to more recent fare its pretty tame.
