On a completely separate topic, is the Optimum release of The Lost Continent the cut version? Or do I still need to buy the ABUS version for the extra 8 minutes of footage?
According to an Amazon reviewer it is the cut version

You get The Reptile as a free girt with the AB release.

Cheers. Looks like I'll go for the AB version when I have the funds.

I've been doing some 'window shopping' on the net and found some interesting French editions. Does anyone have any of these?

Here are the French box sets from Amazon.fr.

According to DVD Compare they are anamorphic but light on features compared to the German Anolis/E-M-S editions, but at less than 20 Euros each for 5 films (not including shipping), they look like good value.

Here is an example of some of the indiviual movie art. I like them!

Nice boxsets, but I won't be triple dipping for these titles!

X THE UNKNOWN is a classic Hammer outing-very bleak and atmospheric....

Nice original Hammer artwork on the French releases. So much better than a photo.

Cool

I'm sure older members will remember a soft-cover book on Hammer from the 70s, it had a lurid reddish cover and full colour mid-section with lots of pics of Hammer babes, lost it about 25 years ago. Strangely no sign of it on a trawl of the web. love to look thru it again.

That would have been amazing. I wonder who was in line to play the lead?

But they picked Barbara Leigh.

I think it was Caroline Munro. If I'm not mistaken, I remember her mentioning something in Glasgow last month (could be wrong though).
