NEW UK/US TITLE ANNOUNCEMENT: The Bloodstained Butterfly This grisly and audacious giallo has been newly restored in 4K and comes with a host of new extras including a commentary from legendary genre critics Alan Jones and Kim Newman! Synopsis: Directed by Duccio Tessari (Death Occurred Last Night, A Pistol for Ringo), The Bloodstained Butterflymelds the lurid giallo traditions popularised by Dario Argento and Mario Bava with courtroom drama, resulting in a film that is as concerned with forensic detail and legal process as it is with grisly murders and audacious set-pieces. When a young female student is savagely killed in a park during a thunderstorm, the culprit seems obvious: her lover, TV sports personality Alessandro Marchi (Giancarlo Sbragia, Death Rage), seen fleeing the scene of the crime by numerous eyewitnesses. The evidence against him is damning… but is it all too convenient? And when the killer strikes again while Marchi is in custody, it quickly becomes apparent that there’s more to the case than meets the eye… Starring 70s heartthrob Helmut Berger (Dorian Gray, The Godfather: Part III) alongside genre mainstays Evelyn Stewart (The Psychic, The Case of the Scorpion’s Tail) and Carole André (Colt 38 Special Squad), and featuring a score by Gianni Ferrio (Death Walks at Midnight), The Bloodstained Butterfly is presented uncut and in a sumptuous new 4K restoration that allows this unique and haunting thriller to shine like never before! To be honest, I've never seen it. I would have bought it as part of an American Horror Project set, but as a standalone release, I'll wait for a few reviews first!

Oh well blind buys at full price on Butterfly and the Yorga films. Not so sure about the Microwave Massacre film. Seems like an odd choice for a standalone title from Arrow. Maybe they just wanted to make sure 88 didn't get to it. Sounds like it would be right at home in the slasher classics line.

I'll get Microwave Massacre and Butterfly. Others are right though, Microwave massacre would've fitted nicely next to Drive in massacre, Hospital Massacre, and Nailgun Massacre in the Slasher Classics line. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

new titles
microwave massacre is a funny trashy little film, haven't seen the yorgas but will get them, pity they never made the once mooted Dr Phibes vs count yorga film. Will get the Cronenberg short films as the locusts descended on the videodrome box set. |

I can't remember when I last bought an Arrow Blu-ray / DVD. These days, their back catalogue is way too big for me to keep track of their releases. I somehow miss their early days with a few new Horror classics released every now and then (more or less the (in)famous slipcase period, so to speak), but I guess that's just me.
