The Zavvi exclusive wave of Steelbooks are funded by Zavvi. They're not in any way taking the place of a potential new release.

Hope that's not the art being used on the standard release. The poster is much better.

Anything is better than the art the US BD release got. I wonder if they'll sort that apparent audio issue out. I certainly can't recall it on the DVD, but I haven't seen it in many years.

I'm really happy that Shivers is the Cronenberg title. It was my ideal choice, closely followed by Rabid. I was hoping for a Shivers and Rabid double pack ala the Phibes set, but I'm more than happy for a BD release at all. Considering the various Shivers and Rabid releases over the years have all come from the same source, I have to assume Arrow have Rabid too. I really it's an in-house James White restoration too.

I'll definitely buy both. I love Killer Klowns from Outer Space, and it's been far too long since I last saw Shivers. All in all, and despite the fact they are making them less 'special', I really like what Zavvi and Arrow Video and doing with Steelbooks.

Back to the steelboxes. I don't know if this has been mentioned yet...

"This June, Arrow Video will be celebrating its 5th anniversary with a host of special announcements being made in the coming weeks.

To kick the celebrations off, six specially re-packaged steelbooks will be released exclusively via Zavvi. June 23rd will see the release of Maniac Cop, followed by Day of the Dead on the 30th June. Shortly thereafter Arrow Video will release Black Sunday, Inferno, City of the Living Dead and Phenomena.

Here's where it gets interesting...

In one of these Limited Edition Steelbooks, Arrow Video will place a Golden Ticket, for which one lucky fan will win the entire Arrow Video back-catalogue (provided still in print) and all upcoming 2014 titles.

This will be followed throughout the year with a host of further celebrations, including talent-led fan-events, unique merchandise and exciting interactive competitions for fans to take part"

Over the moon about Shivers. At last !
Barbara Steele must be loving all the Arrow releases at the moment. Another interview with her is surely on the cards.
