Ha! Of course they'll put out more Amarays. I don't trust anything they say now, especially after telling me flat out that they had no plans to release a standard version on Withnail. Yeah sure Arrow. They knew fine well they would, and if they said so, they wouldn't have sold as many limited editions, which btw backfired on them. Thinking they'd be able to sell 2000 of those.

Don't gloat Stephen! I actually completely agree with you though, I think most of us Cult Labers wondered why Arrow were releasing Withnail at all as it's already had a fair few dvd and blu releases.

Anyway, I had a thought. Arrow have mentioned doing a Bava Box a few times, which would probably contain a few titles clumped together that might not sell massively on their own. With Kino putting out a better HD master of Bay of Blood could they license Kino's master and pop it into the box? A fair amount of people have asked if Arrow would revisit Bay of Blood, they have done it before with Tenebrae after all.

I might have mentioned this before. The only Arrow title that really needs revisiting is City of the Living Dead. Bloody atrocious transfer.

I understand the Blue Underground transfer of City of the Living Dead is better than Arrow's.

Marginally, it's still not great. It was scanned in Italy. I have both and considering the Arrow release has plenty of extras and the BU is bare bones neither are perfect. Someone needs to go back to the negatives on it and do a Zombie flesh eaters.

(and no I don't mean lose 6 seconds of boat!)

BU's City of the Living Dead isn't barebones.

Compared to the arrow release it is. Fair enough a few features there so not barebones but Arrows trumps it for extras. Re-watched it last night and the foggy noise is all over BU's release as well. So I stand corrected on the bonus features front but its still not much better than arrows and neither are great.

Can't comment on Arrows CotLD quality as I don't own it yet! It's going cheap ATM so,mwhat the hey. I'm generaly not that fussy about transfers anyway.
