thanks for the update. this from the SS Facebook page might be of interest to fans of this movie Just a note with regard to our release in comparison with the German release. The German release has 4 discs, 2 are blu-ray, 1 DVD and 1 CD. We will also be including a CD. We have both included 4 versions of the film. Two of these are the same full length versions but with different endings. Another is the same edit but with colour and other visual adjustments made by the director, although our director’s version is a brand new one he has just delivered to us. The German release also includes a shorter edit of the film which they call the original video version. This is not however the original UK VHS edit which we have included. We worked from a different scan of the film and our restoration preserves fine grain and detail. We used 1 Blu-ray disc rather than 2 as David Mackenzie of Fidelity in Motion (who is authoring the disc) has used seamless branching so bitrate will be high and encoding of the highest quality. While we had access to the extras on the German release, we wanted to produce our own exclusive new material which included interviews with additional cast members in our hour long 'making-of', together with other newly produced material. |

Xtro Review | DVD Compare "...That the film's drama remains compelling is largely due to the central performances of Stegers and Sayer, both lending ambiguity to a story where there really is none since virtually everything is telegraphed early on by the derivativeness of the science fiction elements; and the film remains interesting as a future Video Nasty, and one of the gorier pre-A Nightmare on Elm Street New Line horror films (alongside with The Evil Dead which they would release the same year)." Extra features specs: DISC ONE (Blu-ray) *The Film - Original Ending (86:01) *The Film - Alternate Ending (86:50) *The Film - UK Video Version (85:41) *The Film - 2018 Director's Version (86:48) Introduction to the director's version (0:34, unskippable) "Xploring Xtro" documentary featuring interviews with Harry Bromley-Davenport, Mark Forstater, Bernice Stegers, Susie Silvey, Tim Dry, Sean Crawford, Robert Pereno, Alan Jones, and Craig Lapper (56:52) "The World of Xtro" featurette with Dennis Atherton, Harry Bromley-Davenport, and Mark Forstater (27:20) "Beyond Xtro" featurette with Harry Bromley-Davenport and Mark Forstater looking ahead to new reboot "Xtro – The Big One', including excusive test footage (7:24) "Xtro Xposed" featurette (11:44) "Loving The Alien: A Tribute to Philip Sayer" featuring exclusive Brian May music tribute (3:36) DISC TWO (Soundtrack CD)
