Now welcome folks, I'm sure you'd like to know, we're at the start of one big circus show. There are acts that are cool and acts that amaze. Some acts are scary and some acts will daze. Acts of all kinds, you can count on that, from folks that fly to disappearing acts. There are lots of surprises for the family at the Greatest Show in the Galaxy! So many strange surprises, I'm prepared to bet, whatever you've seen before, you ain't seen nothing yet

You have to admit for the so called Greatest Show in the Galaxy it was pretty lame.

Billy Smart did it a bit better.

Out of the Sylvester McCoy era I think I have only watched The Greatest Show In The Galaxy about 3 times, when it was originally aired, then when I bought it on dvd and when I went through the Doctor Who watch phase.

It was one at the time of transmission i didn't like. However now all these years later i do like it because it has that weird vibe that only the McCoy era had.

I mean the circus. It's pathetic. Why would anyone travel to see it from far flung corners of the galaxy? When your encore is a weirdo playing the spoons then...like i say, it has that strangeness that only McCoy era Doctor Who can muster.

'The Greatest Show In The Galaxy' has a great cliffhanger at the end of episode 3

I actually prefer the "Shall we go in or not?" cliffhanger at the end of part one.

It's a realistic cliffhanger that many of us will have suffered as to should we go into some strange traveling attraction. Be it a ghost train or something equally weird and creepy. It's not a typical Doctor Who cliffhanger but it's certainly something the audience can relate to.

Similar to the opening of the box of Jhana at the end of episode 2 of 'Kinda'
