Sabrina The Teenage Witch

This is The Melissa Joan Hart version which aired in the 90's and this was a favorite of mine growing up and I picked up the entire series on sale. Unfortunately the DVD's didn't not contain the songs used when shown on TV, just some generic replacement.

Season's 1-3
These were the classic episodes that I loved, cheesy but fun, Salem The Cat is the best character during the series. It also had the classic into song and opening credits.

Season 4

This was the start of some more serious season long storylines especially the love triangle between Sabrina, Harvey & Josh. Valerie left the series and her replacement wasn't as entertaining. Good episodes but you could sense the changes. There was also a Theme Song and Intro change.

Season 5

Things were different here, obviously Sabrina couldn't stay at School forever so she was off to College, wasn't as bad as I remembered but it isn't the same. Had a good Theme Song though.

Season 6

Yeah this isn't good anymore, you could see the writing on the wall on this show.

Season 7

What on Earth was this? my God, this was not the show I enjoyed watch in it's early years, most of the original cast had gone, Sabrina got a job and got engaged, luckily she married the person, fans wanted but this was unwatchable.

Still worth the investment for the first 3 Seasons and Season 4 is very watchable also but beyond that...

This is the start of many episodes of season 2 and seems to have updated from voice calls to video calls within Airwolf and new programme that shows the targets aimed at Airwolf, the programmes so far are enjoyable and seem to re-use footage from the previous episodes.

Eruption: Hawke and Dom are forced to land in area with a dormant volcano that is ready to erupt and leaders are not willing to believe or leave the area.

Short Walk To Freedom: Caitlin is in South America with kids looking at ancient ruins when they are taken hostage.

Even though the show is still good, Jan-Michael Vincent still had his problems with his addictions that a stuntman was killed in the episode Natural Born which caused Vincent to depression as he arrived on the set drunk and wasn't able to fly during the sequence in which the tragedy happened and there is more noticable goofs that appeared which seems funny that the makers didn't try to hide.

RED DWARF Series One. (1988)

After breaking quarantine regulations by bringing a cat aboard a spaceship, Dave Lister is frozen in stasis for 18 months. Awaking thirty million years later he discovers a radiation disaster had wiped out all the crew.
The ships computer Holly has revived Dave's nemesis Rimmer as a hologram.
One of the offspring started by Dave's cat has evolved into a human like form..

I had not seen these early episodes in many years. Possibly on the original airing on BBC back in 1988! Great to revisit.
Arnold Rimmer.. What a Smeghead!

Some TV shows I've recently watched:

Making a Murderer: Season 2 – I won't see too much about this case there are people who want to watch it and aren't aware of what has happened to the people involved. I found some aspects of the first season, particularly Brendan Dassey's interrogation, troubling and the questions raised in this season have done nothing to alleviate those feelings. I found it compelling viewing and wish I saw it when it was first put on to Netflix.

It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia: Season 14 – although there are several funny moments throughout this season, I can't help but feel it's a show which is a few years past its peak and would be better off being cancelled before it becomes dull and where the laughs and humorous set is too infrequent for it show which is guaranteed to be funny and satirically irreverent.

The Walking Dead: Season Eight – the season leading to 'all out war' between Rick and Negan has a really interesting non-linear narrative which makes it a bit more demanding of your attention than previous seasons. There are moments of high emotion, the times when you feel your heart sinking or even saying "no!" at the TV!

Staged – I watched this when it was first on iPlayer and they now have longer episodes on Netflix. I think it works better in the long form because the interactions between all the 'characters' (with Martin Sheen and David Tennant playing exaggerated versions of themselves) carry more weight and become even funnier when they are more fully developed and more time is spent on the various plot threads.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine: Season 7 – this is a bit like It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia because the first few seasons were often laugh-out-loud funny, but the past couple of seasons have become a bit flat and occasionally grating, with the humour becoming less frequent and far from guaranteed.

Cobra Kai – another show I wish I'd watched long ago. It's brilliant how they have managed to get the principal actors from the Karate Kid films to appear in this TV show and basically repeat the Karate Kid montages and lessons. There are times when it has a clichéd soap opera feel, but this isn't something which makes it less watchable because it's something I found very easy to binge watch and very difficult to stop watching late at night. Bring on season three!

Ratched – this was suggested by the Netflix algorithm after Cobra Kai finished, and the programming getting as me very well because the show, developed by the man behind American Horror Story, is to One Flew over the Cuckoo's Nest what Bates Motel is to Psycho. Sarah Paulson is a terrific actor and this has the same vibe and feel as American Horror Story. I was sad when it finished and am eagerly anticipating the next season.

Des – I watched the three episodes of this last night without any knowledge of Dennis Nilsen's life and crimes. It's an engrossing and occasionally blackly comic piece of television because the things which Nielsen says are so outrageous and blackly humorous they are both disturbing and funny. It's the sort of thing which made me laugh and then think 'Hang on a minute, that's not really funny', feeling a bit guilty for my initial reaction. I want to watch the David Tennant-narrated documentary on Nilsen because I've seen a little bit which gave me an even greater appreciation of how good Tennant's portrayal of the serial killer is.

Airwolf: Season 3.

I wont put down the episodes for this as I wasn't paying much attention to it, some of the episodes were enjoyable, Airwolf II, Fortune Teller, A Child Shall Lead, Annie Oakley were my favorite episodes but seems like most of the episodes seem to be the same but with different characters. I'm sure in A Child Shall Lead the helicopter used in HX-1 was the same, you can tell they were working round when Jan-Michael Vincent was clear headed.

Wicked Science: The Weakest Link. Jack is turning into quite the nuisance as we head into the second half of the season. When his attempt to change tack and lay on the charm with Elizabeth falls about as flat as you'd expect, he plays manipulator in order to ensure Toby and his friends are all out of the way so he can break into his shed/lab again - only to unleash decidedly more than he bargained for. This is another strong episode, and thankfully there seems to be no sign of the downturn I thought season 1 underwent at around this point. Toby doesn't seem to be holding a grudge against Elizabeth for the events of last week, but Elizabeth is definitely holding one against Jack, and even Verity doesn't seem to be very impressed with him, actually suggesting to Elizabeth - in front of him - that she turn him into a toad!

THE SIX MILLION DOLLAR MAN Seasons 1,2,3,4,5 (1973-1978)

THE BIONIC WOMAN Seasons 1,2,3 (1974-1978)

Excellent! Ah, those were the days when we used to run in slow motion doing the bionic sound effect!
In a time before spoilers, remember when Jaime's bionics went haywire and she died? Great episodes. What a shocker.
Such was the outcry over her death, Jaime was resurrected for her own show and the two series had a number of crossover episodes.

THE RETURN OF THE SIX MILLION DOLLAR MAN AND THE BIONIC WOMAN (1987)
BIONIC SHOWDOWN (1989)
BIONIC EVER AFTER ? (1994)

These TV movies are okay. Good to see Steve and Jaime back again.
The shows are a bit thin on the bionic side of things. BIONIC SHOWDOWN is a showcase for Sandra Bullock's new super bionic body with Steve and Jaime really in support roles.
At last Steve and Jaimie tie the knot although it's all over rather quick. Good story though.
I still have the Six Million Dollar Man figure and engine block. Also an annual from 1975.
A few years back I met Lindsay Wagner and Richard Anderson (Oscar Goldman).

Wicked Science: Talk to the Animals. Increasingly jealous at Toby and Nikki's growing relationship, Elizabeth comes up with a way to mess with his head - literally - in a bid to make him worried enough to spend more time with her, only to end up affecting Sasha as well. This one was a bit of a dud for me, to be honest. While it is interesting that, unlike season 1 where she's just angry at the world in general, almost every time Elizabeth acts out in season 2 it's to do with her feelings for Toby, this one does rather feel like it's going over old ground without really adding anything new. Meh.

When it was first aired each episode cost around
250 thousand And above per episode .

Here some facts about spitting image

https://www.itv.com/news/central/201...spitting-image

Today marks the 30th anniversary of the satirical puppet show 'Spitting Image'. It was made by ITV in its Midlands studios and first aired on Sunday 26 February 1984.

As aware this article is 6yrs old.

30 facts for 30 years:

The programme began in 1984 and ran for 12 years until 1996.

There were 131 episodes over 18 series and 10 one-off specials.

Its creators were satirical artists Peter Fluck and Roger Law, who met at Cambridge School of Art.

It took three years for Fluck and Law to develop technology to get the puppets onto TV screens.

The first series cost £2.6 million - almost double the cost of other prime-time shows.

Each puppet was moulded in latex and cost around £5,000 to make.

Many of the puppeteers and voice artists became famous after their time on the show. They include Harry Enfield, Steve Coogan, Kate Robbins and John Sessions.

The first episode aired with a laughter track. This episode was shown to a preview audience before transmission. The laughter track was dropped in later episodes.

It was originally filmed at a warehouse in London’s Docklands, where the puppets were made - but moved to the Birmingham studios of Central Independent Television.

The show’s first director, Peter Harris, was chosen because he had worked on many episodes of ‘The Muppet Show’.

All the Royal puppets wer cut from the first episode because HRH The Duke of Edinburgh was due to open Central’s new Nottingham studios the following week.

After the first series, production moved to those studios in Nottingham, although some editing was done in London.

To maintain topicality the show’s production schedule was extremely tight. Often the second part was still being edited as the first part was being transmitted.

Musician Sting was persuaded to sing a re-worded version of "Every Breath You Take", for the show entitled "Every Bomb You Make".

In 1986, the show had a Number 1 hit in the UK charts with "The Chicken Song", parodying "Agadoo" by Black Lace.

Puppets of Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher were successively manic, and were often dressed as a man – an idea suggested by one of the puppeteers.

Steve Nallon, who provided the voice for Margaret Thatcher also impersonated Birmingham MP Roy Hattersley and the Queen Mother for whom he used a Black Country accent.

Steve Nallon also dressed as Margaret Thatcher to perform at events and in the media for many years, even after the show ended.

In an early episode the producers stated they definitely had not made a puppet of the Queen Mother but she popped up at the end of the same show, expressing grief as she was “looking forward to seeing it."

In 1992 a Spitting Image Election Special was performed in front of a studio audience - the first time that had happened.

When Tony Blair was the leader of the Labour Party he was often portrayed as a naive, nervous public schoolboy. A year after Spitting Image ended, he won the General Election and became Prime Minister.

Sotheby’s auctioned 200 Spitting Image puppets in July 2000. Margaret Thatcher, former Liberal Democrat leader Charles Kennedy, and David Steel were all bought by the art committee of the House of Commons.

Lord (then Roy) Hattersley, a Birmingham Labour MP at the time, loved his puppet - which spat profusely whenever it spoke.

But Lord (then Kenneth) Baker hated his puppet, which portrayed him as a slug.

Former Tory health minister Edwina Currie bought and still owns the puppet of herself.

A puppet of Osama Bin Laden was made but was never used on the show.

A US version of the show was produced for the NBC network, introduced each week by David Frost.

The format of the programme was also franchised to several countries including Japan, Portugal & Greece.

The UK version of Spitting Image won ten BAFTA Awards and two Emmy Awards.

The first ten series have been released on DVD but the subsequent eight are so far not available.

Of that lot, Dexter, The Simpsons (though not for decades), House, Pretty Little Liars, Criminal Minds, The Big Bang Theory (up to about season 5), Lost, The Office, The Blacklist, Friends, That 70s Show, Smallville, Seinfeld.

Crap list, though. Hasn't even got Buffy on it.:tongue1:

Wicked Science: Verity from the Black Lagoon. Garth's constant teasing leads Verity to accidentally wreck one of Elizabeth's experiments, who throws her out in a fury - not knowing she's been infected with something that begins to rapidly rewrite her DNA... This is a really fun episode, a great little mini-monster movie, with Verity as the monster lol! It even manages to be a bit sweet with regards to the often weird Elizabeth/Verity friendship. As badly as Elizabeth often treats her, this episode makes it clear that Verity remains loyal to her not because Elizabeth is her only friend, but because she knows she's Elizabeth's only real friend, and that she needs her. And though she'd never say it - and probably doesn't even know how to - Elizabeth knows it too. Aww.
