OOOO...Not sure about that though. Still "King of New York" for me.

But "Ms.45" is in the top 3 with "Bad Lt".

1. King of New York
2. Bad Lieutenant
3. Ms.45

My top three Ferrara films, although everything he has made is great in my opinion. One of my favourite directors, very underrated. Apparently he can never get financing which sucks considering he always produces interesting and unique films.

King of New York is great, possibly Chris Walken's finest performance, but i think Ms.45 is the better film. Bad Liutenant is just nasty, not a nice film at all, well made but incredibly dark in tone and it seemed to be controversial for contriversial sake....

All of Ferrara's films are character studies, each one focuses on a deranged individual. Bad Lieutenant isn't a nice film, but it's very powerful and Keitel's performance is amazing. I don't think it's controversy for controversy's sake, otherwise it would have been panned, it's held in high regard by some critics etc, eg. Roger Ebert and Mark Kermode.

Bad Lieutenant is Ferrara's best (IMO!). Indeed, I'd say it was one of the ten or so best films ever made.

I rate it extremely highly - a masterpiece.

Default Ms. 45 (1981)

Ms. 45 (1981) Starring the very beautiful Zoe Lund who sadly passed away aged 37. A very gritty vigilante/revenge movie.

She plays a shy and mute seamstress who goes insane after being attacked and raped twice in one day, in which she takes to the streets of New York after dark and randomly kills men with a .45 caliber gun.

I've actually never seen the film but have heard wonderful things about it. I would love to be given the opportunity to own it one day.

There was an uncut French dvd which had optional French subs (Seven7).
Apparently it has been repacked (MEP) but I can't confirm this.

Coincidentally I bought this DVD recently and it arrived today. I think the only difference to the original French DVD was that it had a slipcase, as mine doesn't have one. Thats the only difference as far as I am aware.
