A great film and an ideal release for Shameless. Not sure if the rights are available. The old UK release was never promoted much and someone like shameless could do a lot to push it. Deserves a wider audience. Or even a Blu Ray?

I read the book by The Fast Show's Charlie Higson first, and only later on learned it existed in film form. While the film is watchble enough, the book is much better, with the banal Englishness contrasting nicely with the brutal horror in the second half!

I shall seek out the book. Thanks for the heads up!

Yeah it's a fantastic read, highly recommended

I bought a bunch of Higson's other books, but still not got round to them. I hear they're in a similar blackly comic vein.

He does a commentary on the R2 dvd of the film btw . . .

not really the kind of film Shameless go in for, it's a good film based on an excellent book.
