To that end most companies I know aren't buying any new films at the moment.

SHAM019 and 20 will certainly be coming out - Baba Yaga is halfway through production and 20 is almost decided upon so the first collection will be completed. After that things are less clear but Shameless does have film rights reverting from other companies and other interesting possibilities in the pipeline.

As for me I've got plenty of PR work to do with other clients and I know of another label that's buying-up giallos, another label potentially setting-up in the UK and I'm currently wading through Asian sleaze to set up a new exploitation label for another client. So... there should be plenty of treats for 2009.
Thanks for your detailed reply Almar.

Films I'd like to see on an 'official' UK DVD:

Kiss The Girls and Make Them Die (Se tutte le donne del mondo aka Operazione paradiso, 1966) Quentin Tarantino's favourite 'eurospy' movie; imagine Parker and Lady Penelope meeting Matt Helm in the plot of 'Moonraker'.

The Fantastic Argoman (Come rubare la corona d'Inghilterra aka The Incredible Paris Incident, 1967) Terrific 'Danger: Diabolik' styled Italian comic strip nonsense. Outstanding score by Piero Umiliani.

Anna (1967) "un comedie musicale" starring Anna Karina, Jean-Claude Brialy and Serge Gainsbourg with a phenomonally groovy soundtrack by the latter.

Erotissimo (1968). Starring Jean Yanne and Annie Giradot; 'Erotissimo' may be the most "Sixties" movie ever. A satire on the use of sexual imagery in advertising; 'Erotissimo' makes 'Mister Freedom' and 'Danger: Diabolik' look like an 80s Ken Loach movie in comparison.

L'Homme Orchestre (1970) Comedy musical starring Louis De Funes. One of the funniest and nuttiest films I have ever seen, beautiful, stylish and in possession of one of the finest and funkiest soundtracks (by the much under rated Francois de Roubaix) to ever grace my ears.

Anyone guess what I'd love to see released by Shameless?

Cut and Run and Zombie Holocaust would make great Shameless titles.
