SORRY, BOYS…
… But this is going to be the girliest Cult Labs newsletter ever. One of my bestest friends is coming to stay this weekend and we’re painting the town red so I am currently typing this with one hand and painting my toenails pink with the other. Of course, being pink and floral doesn’t stop me writing the best cult film newsletter this side of New Look so let’s get on with it!
It’s another great week with Kentucky Fried Movie (Arrow Video: DVD) available to buy as we speak! This holy grail of bad taste movies is an absolute hoot so I highly recommend you get your hands on it! Also coming up, I have word on how you can get your next DVD/Blu-ray for free. Donnie Yen Fan? Rutger Hauer fan? We’re looking for people to help spread the word about some of the titles we’re working on. If you’re active on forums or social networks or have impressive followings then please drop sam@cult-labs.com a line. Tell us where you post and/or what followings you have on social networks and which types of films you like (please be honest now!) and you could get the next copy of your most desired film for free! Currently we’re interested in people who would like Donnie Yen’s The Lost Bladesman or Rutger Hauer’s Hobo With A Shotgun.

For those cult movie fans chomping at the bit for Hobo With A Shotgun, the official UK hubsite is awash with new content to keep you satisfied until the UK cinema release on the 15 July. New director interviews, more behind-the-scenes footage including background on the infamous school bus incineration and much, much more including photos from the London screening attended by director Jason Eisener. The hubsite blog updates daily so there’s always something new to explore – and it’s just been endorsed by the assistant director, Jason Shipley!

THERE’S SOMETHING GOING ON AT THE LABORATORY
Toenails are now pretty and pink so now I just need new shoes and a pretty new dress. It’s almost a shame it’s summer or I’d get something made of grey velvet. But in this weather it’d only attract flies… See what I did there?
SHAM202/SHAM035 – Four Flies on Grey Velvet
On Wednesday, Shameless pretty much made every Argento fan’s year by announcing that they would be releasing the “lost” Four Flies on Grey Velvet on DVD and Blu-ray in December. What do you think of this news? I personally think this’ll be one of the biggest releases of 2011. What say you?
This week Shameless also announced they would be releasing the Slasher Box Set in October. Details are scarce on this release at the mo so head on over to this thread to say what you’d like to see.
