Adam Wingard’s acclaimed serial killer road movie, A HORRIBLE WAY TO DIE, is set for a DVD & Blu-ray release in the UK, Mar 19, 2012

A Horrible Way To Die is a movie about horrible things. Horrible murders, horrible people, the horrible psychological scars that others can inflict, but it’s not a film that assaults you with endless torture footage either. Weirdly, it retains a powerful ability to disturb and worms it’s way into the memory in the same way that the equally troubling Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer does.

How?

Because the film focuses on the internal workings of a killer rather than his bloody kills. Horror fans still have their share of bloodletting to keep them content, but it could have been much more explicit. Would more gore improve the picture? I think not, if anything it would offer visceral relief because, like Henry, the nightmare world that’s created is disturbing without the need to extend the violent scenes beyond reality.

This clip showcases the weird atmosphere and deliberately paced nature of the piece, as a landlord enters his tenant’s house to make a grim discovery…
