Check out what online reviewers have been saying about we are the night…

“Overall, We Are the Night is a well-crafted film that draws its inspiration from some of the best films of the genre and adds a few neat touches of its own. The special effects are very good and don’t go down the path of overly-obvious CGI, the cast are all fantastic in their roles and for the true vampire connoisseur there is a lot to be taken away from this film.” – ONE METAL

“There are some really lovely moments in We Are The Night too – like when Lena becomes a vampire and her body heals itself; removing wounds, growing her hair and dissolving her tattoos! It is superbly directed by Dennis Gansel, with some stunning visuals and brutally brilliant action.” – GORE PRESS

“Things have moved on a long way since Christopher Lee camped it up in Dracula back in 1958. We Are The Night is a new take on the vampire saga, and mighty effective it is too.” – THE HOLLYWOOD NEWS

“This film has a lot of fun exposing the habitual, excessive and gluttonous life of a vampire.”- TWITCH

“Like The Lost Boys for the Cyber Generation, We Are the Night immerses us right off the bat with a seductive soundtrack and hip style.” – ABOUT HORROR

After The Sixth Sense proved to be a huge hit, it wasn’t long before several similar ghost movies quickly came about. Ghost films which offered more than a terrifying haunting became more and more popular during the 2000′s, with an emphasis on story, plot and a spooky twist as well as the usual ghoulish going-ons you’d expect from a ghost movie. Some of the very best and most successful of these chilling ghostly thrillers include:

  • The Others (2001) Staring Nicole Kidman and Christopher Eccleston, The Others gave viewers a twist that has got to be one of cinemas greatest shockers. Totally unpredicted and yet so obvious – this is how a twist should be. The acting is brilliant and the creepiness factor shoots off the scales.
  • What Lies Beneath? (2000) Even the title is a question in this ghostly thriller that will keep you guessing to the end. The cast is brilliant in this as is the film’s direction. Often overlooked in the ghost genre, but one not to miss.
  • Gothika (2003) Okay, okay. Gothika is a big turd, but it still fits nicely into this list. The ghosts are not just used to scare the pants of you, but are there to create a mysterious, headscratching plot that (fails) to keep you on edge and wonder what the answers behind the plot enigmas are.

For a more recent example of a chilling ghostly thriller, look no further than The Pact….

Break-out horror movie smash of the year that has been electrifying hardened genre fans and non-horror fans alike, “The Pact” combines the supernatural terrors of “Paranormal Activity” with the tense atmospherics of a serial killer thriller to create a unique, modern-day take on the classic ghost story.
