Shock Labyrinth, a 3D excursion into J-Horror terror from the director of the classic Japanese fright flick Ju-on the Grudge, is out now on UK DVD and Blu-Ray in the UK. Sam@Cultlabs has been excitedly writing posts about this unusual new picture for weeks. Like many horror films the movie plays on the kind of seemingly real terrors of the imagination that you tend to grow out of when you grow up and we looked at that in this post on CHILDHOOD FEARS.

One unique feature of the film is that it’s shot in a real theme park attraction (see links to more information on this on the official UK SHOCK LABYRINTH HUB). Disney might have had the Pirates of the Caribbean ride as the inspiration for their franchise but director Takashi Shimizu goes one better with his movie, filming inside a terrifying walk-through haunted hospital at the Mount Fuji Theme Park. Cult Labs published a blog on horror movies that feature fairgrounds, circuses and attractions HERE.

You can also check out what we’ve been saying about key moments in the movie, such as this post, where you can watch THE FIRST CREEPY CLIP we shared and also another post, where we look at how Shock Labyrinth uses EVERY TRICK IN THE J-HORROR BOOK to spook the audience.
