THIS WEEK @ CULT LABS: 31 Aug 2012

There’s A Lion On The Loose!

Hello dear readers and welcome to another jam packed newsletter full of cult film news just for you. This week, one news story has been on the minds of everyone in the country; the sighting of a supposedly escaped Lion on the loose in the wilderness of Essex! Although now thought to be nothing more than an over-sized kitty, if you’re anything like me your imagination is going crazy at the thoughts of a rampaging, unstoppable giant lion causing bloody havoc on the streets. So, what better time than now to have a weekend marathon of killer animal attack movies! From Jaws to The Birds, Night Of The Lepus, Grizzly and Them! If you have a favourite of this mini-genre, why not let us know over on this thread! We’d love to hear what you think. Attack From Planet B have put together a great list of the top 10 animal attack movies, well worth a look see.

Anyway, on with the show!

SHAMELESS MOVIE MARATHON!

It’s nearly here! Cult Labs’ very first Shameless Movie Marathon is only a few hours away. Kicking off at 7:00 tomorrow night , the sleazy Marathon includes a triple bill of cult goodness with two great gialli, What Have They Done To Your Daughters? and Lucio Fulci’s New York Ripper followed by the zombie classic Dellamorte Dellamore! And the best part? It all takes place from the comfort of your own home! Simply stick on the film at the allocated time, log on to Twitter (if you haven’t got an account, be sure to create one – it’s dead simple and hugely worth it for these fantastic movie nights), and tweet away as the films play. Make sure to include @cultlabs or #cultlabs so everyone can see your posts and join in the convos about the film. Follow me too so I can help you if there’s any technical problems. Head on over to the Facebook event page for all the details and whatever you do, don’t forget the popcorn!  Throughout the night, I’ll be asking a series of questions with a whole bunch of Shameless and cult DVDs/Blu-rays up for grabs. See you tomorrow night!
