I love the Phantasm series, although I have only watched each of the films a single time when I picked up the Anchor Bay set a couple of years ago!

I recall my younger brother having the first two films on VHS years ago, and I had seen little snippets here and there, but when I actually sat down to watch them properly I was extremely impressed with the scripts and the atmosphere. Don Coscarelli is a really gifted filmmaker.

I think my preference of the films stays in line with the order of the films production, although I think highly of each of them.

Shadow, sorry for not getting back to you sooner, but here goes. Ya I too am a big Phantasm supporter. Must admit its been a while since I viewed the entire series, but hopefully I'll rectify that over the coming days/weeks. The first two in the series I especially love. Parts three and four I like for different reasons. I concur with your comments completely regarding part two. Would love to see this series get a region B Bluray release. Here's hoping

Threads merged.

The first one totally blew me away when I first saw this on video way back.
A work of genius, and in the footsteps of fellow auteurs (Hooper,Raimi) a debut which was never ever matched up again.

I'd love to see UK Blu-ray releases of Phantasm 1 & 2.

Yeah, me too. I'd love to have the whole series on Blu-ray.

I also hope Coscarelli makes a fifth film and ties up all the loose ends - preferably before Angus Scrimm kicks the bucket!

My Phantasm III anchor bay disc locked up at 38 minutes & refused to play until 56 Minutes,The disc was in perfect condition so I am assuming it is a disc pressing issue.

Anyone else had or heard of a disc pressing Issue on III?

I really hope we get a Phantasm V with Angus he is 87 now,so time is not on our side.A remake in the future without him would be a hopeless failure.

Phantasm V and all the existing Phantasm movies on Bluray would be fantastic. Don't recall having any problems regarding my Anchorbay boxset. All the movies worked fine
