With Yaphet Kotto and Anthony Quinn correct? Any idea if the U.K. DVD is the same as the R1? While not an actioner, J.D.'s Revenge is another fave of mine with a phenomenal performance from Glynn Turman. Especially once he's possessed and goes all 'pimpified'! Some here may remember when MGM issued some Blaxploitation titles on VHS in the late '90s (along with screenings on Sky's Bravo channel) they used the vintage cinema artwork against a gold background on the covers and the releases looked all the better for it. Btw a very impressive selection of posters there, Reaper72. Great stuff and they certainly don't do 'em like that anymore! An absolute shame imo. |

Cheers for the info and it looks like i'll be grabbing the R1 version of this title. It certainly sounds worth a watch judging by the previous opinions here. |

I watched the Blacksploitation flick Black Shampoo the other day. It is about Mr Johnson, who owns a saloon, but seems to spend most of his time sleeping with his clients instead of cutting hair (in fact I dont think he cut anyones hair in the etire film). Of course his receptionist is caught up with a mob boss and Mr Johnson has to show off his ass kicking skills to help her out. Reccomended to all fans of the Blacksploitation genre, but go in expecting more Dolomite than Superfly. |
