don't know if this counts as action, but re-watched True Romance again last night. It's strange how Inglourious Basterds is refered to as Tarantino's most mature screenplay when this is probably his most mature with a female character that is better written an acted than the bride in Kill Bill and has a shockingly thin James Gandolfini in it. Such an awesome film an Tony Scott's best directorial effort in my opinion.

Alan Quatermain and the Lost City of Gold. fun Indiana Jones knock off with Richard Chamberlin sporting a Chuck Norris beard, Sharon Stone looking pretty damn hot and James earl Jones. Some cheesy bits but thorougly enjoyable none the less. 6/10 Blind Fury. Rutger Hauer plays a blind Vietnam vet who learns some pretty niffty sword fighting skills, a bit like daredevil minus the red lycra. Basically a westernised version of Zatoichi. Also star Terry O'Quinn (Locke from Lost) sporting some hair. Alright action but again some cheesy moments. Fun though. Hauer was pretty good action star during the 80s. 6/10 |

Watched Ninja Assassin last week. VERY entertaining movie, and always great to see old Kosugi back on the screen But I do prefer last years "Ninja" a little more because of better story and stunts. |

The Bells Of Death - Efficient Shaw Brothers revenge swordplay with Chang Yi determined to kill the men who murdered his parents, younger brother and abducted his sister. Heads roll and limbs are lobbed off in a film that really packs the action into its 85-minute running time. The bamboo forest fight is a definite highlight. The title is taken from the bracelet of bells Chang Yi takes from his mother’s body and wears around his neck to remind him everyday that he cannot rest until vengeance is taken. All in all a worthy Shaw Brothers romp.

Death Warrant - "Bring me a dream, Burke. Bring me a dream." I couldn't help thinking of John Kirby in Silent Rage whenever I saw the Sandman. |
