my jap laserdisc is 90 minutes long.
haven't seen it yet, i can't tell what scenes includes in this jap version?
i believe this is the most complete version out there?
am i wrong?

I'd say they've just rounded it up to 90 minutes on the laserdisc sleeve, and it's the same as the unrated version, probably without the shot of the nanny. I wouldn't think it's 44 seconds longer. Never heard of a version longer than the unrated (except the workprint).

That's less than 90 mins. It's 89:20

US version was R-rated, jap was not, is that correct?
Euro relieses are most of the time the best cuts compared to US cuts?

Yeah the US only had the R-rated and Japan is unrated.

Indeed.

And Mark Goldblatt confirmed the unrated version was his director's cut (it was decided to delete the prologue scenes pretty early in the editing process).

The unrated cut was also released theatrically (and on VHS & LD) in France, the Netherlands and Australia (and possibly other territories). According to a recent podcast interview with Goldblatt, the R-rated cut was actually made much later, prior to the US home video release in 1991.

Yes it is the best cut, and the same as the ones I mentioned.

Not sure there was an Aussie LD but there sure was a VHS, and a French uncut LD (though French-dubbed).
