I can only recommend the Koch Media release,as it has the unrated footage inserted.

And the non-negligible extras (audio commentary, quality workprint version, behind the scenes/gag reel, trailers and extensive gallery).

Keep in mind though that the Koch Media Version does NOT contain the complete Unrated cut but misses some frames.

Subliminal frames really, you can't really notice it unless you watch the film frame by frame. Pointing that out is pushing. I've seen the movie 4 times in theatres back then + dozens of times on VHS and DVD over the past 24 years and it doesn't bother me.

i recently got the japanese laserdisc of The Punisher, this is the only version which is unrated.
found it brand new in Japan.

I also have the Koch Media 3 disc reliese, haven't seen these cuts yet.
someone here mentioned Koch edition is not full uncut?
is that correct?

I have an old reliese from austrian XT-Video, cover says uncut, movie is missing a few frames when the nanny was shot to death and body slides down.

please share some intel on this.

Avoid the Anchor Bay UK release,R-version and it's DTS-HD MA mix pretty much sucks.I think the same transfer is circulating in Scandinavia now, though I haven't bothered to see that.Maybe we'll see unrated US release some day,who knows...from Shout! Factory perhaps? They've put out some of Lundgren's films of late.

I heard someone say that the Koch version was missing something, but I have no idea what it is. The frames from the Nannies death are in it though.

this site says Koch Media is uncut.

Rewind @ www.dvdcompare.net - Punisher (The) (Blu-ray) (1989)

looking at german site, it says unrated version is missing 1.08 seconds
OFDb - Blu-ray Disc: Koch Media (Mediabook Blu-ray + DVD) (Österreich), Freigabe: ungeprüft von Punisher, The (1989)

what the hell!?

what the hell!?

It says missing 1.08 seconds (26 frames) in 5 scenes? So maybe 5 frames missing in each scene? which could be 1/5 of a second in each one. I find that very strange that someone could even see that! I didn't notice anything missing. I'd still say the Koch disc is still the best version to own.
