There is the situation where, if you're not bothered about the Blu-ray, you can always give/sell it to a friend. They won't get the nifty packaging but they will have the disc they want at a knockdown price!

Personally, I don't mind having a DVD as well of some stuff. If I'm busy I'm usually travelling at least once a month with my laptop and a binder. Not much of that recently though.

Honestly can't see the point of combo releases for this type of film as I watch Bluray on my ps3 - in fact it is one of my pet hates.

Combo means I pay for a dvd that I will never watch - even worse are the triple play combo like Predators meaning I have to pay for 2 discs that will never come out of the box - to me it's just wasteful and I have to pay a premium just for the privilage of having the Bluray version.

The only releases I can see combos being worth while are the kids films like Disney - so the kids can destroy the dvd version with constant playing while the adults get to watch the Bluray version in mint condition.

I'm sure it is cheaper to produce the combo package (as mentioned less packaging to be produced ) but would the average dvd buyer nessesarily know they exist browsing in the shop as presumably they would be placed in the Bluray section not the dvd section so they would not see them

Personally, i don't mind if TB arrives in seperate SD and HD packages or as a combined DVD & BR issue, i'm having this edition whichever way Arrow releases it.

I couldn't agree more. I feel like it's a waste having the dvd sitting in there as I know I'll never watch it. Combo release are a stupid idea. Either release both dvd and blu in their own packaging or just one or the other.

I respect your perspective.

You have to see the idea in general.
For the people who have only DVD, that´s a great persuasion to go BD.
From Arrow, I usually by the DVD and BD.
The DVD when it comes out and the BD when the price lowers below 10£.

I think the double pack is a great idea just to have a new copy of The Beyond is a blessing but to have both DVD and BD together is even better.

I don't think it's that great a persuasion. Plus the buyer is paying for something extra that they are never going to use.

What do you mean, the Blu-ray Disc?

I mean that either way one disc is most likely going to waste. Bluray owners like myself wont ever use the dvd and people buying for the dvd may have no need for the bluray disc.
