That's why tv's have settings you can change, you get it how you like it on day one then it's done so don't start getting cocky and sarcastic.
This thread is about arrows 'tenebrae' blu ray, and rather than realise that arrow ****ed this one up and wasted your money, people are compensating by saying 'change your tv settings' - how stupid is that!
Hmmm... I repeat, not a fan then, ahem. But you can always return the offending disc and get a refund or exchange. I'm no Arrow fan-boy but calling it S**t is a little harsh, perhaps.

That's not a simile it it's a twocompletelydifferentthingsile (the technical term for which is, I believe, ApplesAndOrangesile)

The word slightly is not the case here... the difference between the two prints is like "night and day"...

Believe me... If you think I say like "night and day" because of the screen shots then you´re wrong, I say it because I own both releases.

I admit - it's not a good simile. But it works. Maybe not for everybody?
That's why I asked "Got it?". I was sure that somebody would not understand.

No offense!

Greetings!

What's your impressions of Tenebrae then, Prince? We've heard from quite a few who have disliked the Arrow release, might be nice to hear the flipside of the argument from someone who likes it. Any takers, if not Prince?

I think it is an extremely good presentation of an excellent film I didn't notice any technical deficiencies on the level mentioned by some. Maybe it's my setup, but I thought the cold, stark whites suited the film and the style much more than a warmer palette or set of filters of the sort used to shoot Suspiria.

As I said in my review, I think it's an excellent DVD set though I'll also be one of those who buys the French BD for comparison.

Default Tenebrae – Technically Speaking

except for stupid out of sync on blu ray/dvd (why on my fave horror? )and what's more I would not buy a dvd with fixed subs even if French is as in read reviews is better
did in the past with one dvd and never again since - distracting

vinncent, I'm not sure he's referring to the usual dubbing/sync issues we are used to with these films...

"The English track is in very good shape overall, but it is sadly compromised, as well. There are several instances where the track goes out of synch – an educated guess would be that Arrow utilized the same track as Anchor Bay did for their release, and that the addition of the missing 20+ seconds resulted in some anomalies, but that’s pure conjecture on my part… regardless, just how this escaped the notice of quality control at Arrow defies belief"
