That's great news for me, as "Maniac Cop" is always a throwback to my early years in genre fandom, renting out the (trimmed) UK vhs a good couple of times from a "British Video Store" in Munich in the very early 90's....

And good to see that it's also coming on DVD, so this one should cause no head-bashing between the SD/Blu crowds...

Oh man, I love this movie just for Bruce Campbell as i'm a huge fan!
Definitely will be getting myself a copy of the DVD.
Arrow should release more Bruce Campbell stuff!

Cool cover, BUT, from what I can tell from the painting, he has the zombie look from the sequel.
In the original he just have a scarred face

It is perhaps a little difficult to tell from that angle, but hopefully I'll have some more artwork to unveil next month.

You can say that again!

My first thought after having watched Maniac some months ago was like "Hey, what other movies were directed by this great little chap Bill Lustig?"

The Web knew some answers - however, after some reviews, Maniac Cop stood out like a sore thumb. So my second thought was: "This would make a great Arrow release!"

Greetings!

This is definitely the best Lustig film I've seen. I didn't think much of Maniac or Vigilante. In fact I found Maniac paled in comparison to the (quite) similar Toolbox Murders (also released by BU) and found Vigilante tolerable only because of Fred Williamson's typically charismatic performance. Otherwise I thought it was a poor man's Death Wish. Still, Maniac Cop and its 2 sequels are great fun and truly good films... and of course the legendary Bruce Campbell is involved.

I haven't seen it either so I'm really looking forward to this release. Maniac is okay for what it is, but I quite liked Vigilante so, this is better than that, it could be something special.
