None of that extremely offputting weird noise that has plagued some of their other Italian releases. There's a nice level of film grain over the image that seems natural (and by that, I mean it's probably a good representation of what would've been seen on the original film print). I can't imagine anyone being disappointed in the transfer Arrow have given us.

The extras are the icing on top of the gut-munching cake that's the film (best I could come up with folks!), High Rising Productions have really went to town on this to give us a great selection of extras. The commentary with Briganti and Calum is a fascinating listen and highly recommended. (I haven't listened to the commentary with Alan Jones and Stephen Thrower yet, so I can't comment on it). The hour long "From Romero to Rome" documentary gives a great insight into the Zombie genre on both sides of the Atalantic. The interview with Ian McCulloch is also a superb piece. You can tell he still doesn't think much of this, or the other Italian films he was in though. The Q&A with composer Fabio Frizzi, conducted at a screening of the film at the Glasgow Film Theatre in August is another worthy addition. Moderated by Calum and also on hand to translate some stuff for Fabio, is Nick Frame. Anyone who was there in August will delight in seeing this again. Fabio tells some really marvelous anecdotes (look out for his Lucio Fulci story), we then have "The Meat Munching Movies Of Gino De Rossi, with the make-up artist reminiscing on some of the films he's worked on, including Piranha II. He admits his memory can get a little fuzzy as some of the effects in different films are pretty similar. Next up is a short feature with Dardano Sachetti, "Zombie Flesh Eaters: From Script To Screen", with the screenwriter showing pages from the original script, Island Of The Living Dead. We also have trailers (including the Vipco trailer), tv spots, a thick collector's booklet and a few easter eggs.

For anyone who's still on the fence about getting any one of Arrow's releases, don't wait. This is one of Arrows best to date (if not the best).
Is there a commentary by Stephen Wilson ?

Someone is going to mention it when they open their Limited Edition, so it might as well be me since I have it in my hand. The poster is inside the case. Guess how they managed to do it. Ok I'll tell you.......by not putting an artcard in there. Just like I said. You couldn't make it up!
