Still haven't unwrapped the American Nightmare book either. I've had it 7 months.

Its on the side and i pick it up every now and then. 5 mins and i lose interest, because as you say i don't know what Rigbys talking about.

I have the first print of this book. I wont be upgrading but this is a great book to sit along side English gothic.

The first book in a multi volume set. This vol 1 is the first part of 1930's. Vol 2 second part of 1930's. Then ?? volumes covering the 1940's.

I fancy that new edition of American Gothic, I never managed to pick up the English one, I kept putting it off and now it's out of print, hopefully it'll be reprinted soon!

i caught up with Jonathan Rigby on Tim Lucas's FB page and harangued him for giving one of my favourite films, Possession, such a roasting in Euro Gothic. i told him i'd forgive him if he gave us American Gothic II and he gave me a thumbs up

... lol he writes one about every 5 years i think so not long to wait...
